Thanks for sharing so many great pics! This one is my fave...in my dream world, DH and I can afford to move up around Jackson Hole, or somewhere on the north side of Yellowstone...in Montana...and build a log cabin. This is the type of atmosphere I would love to have in our home...AHHHHhhhhhhh
Looks so warm and cozy.
There's something very warm and enchanting about a dream cabin or cottage in the snowy woods...

I can see why your DGD loved them ! Isn't it nice they are manufacturing those " old-fashioned" lights now. People really seem to like retro styles in lots of areas. Well, would you believe that I still have the tree up , because we're enjoying the colored lights so much , lol .......they're just cheerful . It's a skinny artificial alpine tree but I've never kept a tree up this long before . Even the wreath is on the front door . Lol. It's got to come down this week . I've been sick again so I think that's another reason Xmas decor isn't packed away yet . Haven't been on the forums much either . We're getting snow tomorrow ; think it's the storm you people just had !? Supposed to get 7-10 in. ........course, they predicted a blizzard last weekend & it didn't happen . On another day they said only rain , but awoke to big fluffy snowflakes . It was a pretty snowfall tho .......big flakes falling very slowly . ............thanks for visiting regularly ! I'll try to get here more often . Take care & stay safe in that cold weather / driving !Blueskies----missing your posts, hope your feeling well. The weather here turned warm did melt some of the sNOw, but most of it is still on the ground. Temperatures going back to normal---COLD---Looking forward to Spring. More sNOw today and tomorrow UGH---Dog is really loving it though. LOL
I'm so sorry to hear that your still not feeling well. Don't worry about your decorations. I think I know what Alpine tree you are talking about. I have seen them, I think they had three sizes. I really like them. Its more like a "Winter" tree in my opinion, so see now problem keeping it out, something I would do.
I heard about your sNOwstorm on the news. Pretty much of what we had. In fact its still on the ground. We are expecting more frigid weather this week. Stay safe. Big fluffing sNOwflakes are pretty, have not seen any this year. Just heavy sNOw and lost of it. LOL

Another week with frigid temps. No school for the kids today, and possibly Mon-Tues. The wind chill factor is nasty. Brrrrr
We are expecting more sNOw also. We will surpass our record sNOwfall for January.

Blueskies, just a note to let you know I enjoyed this lovely thread you started, and checked it out often over the holidays. Also, I just took down my tree a few days ago, so you weren't the only one enjoying those Christmas lights a bit longer!!

Those colored lights were so cheerful , think we'll use them next year too . Nice thing is that there are flameless candles, etc., we can enjoy till then ....even tho they're white , they do cheer up a house on these long winter days don't they ! ? I've got a BL or Candle Impressions lighted topiary , small floral arrangement , lanterns , flameless candles , in every room i think ! Love the ones on timers ......glad to hear that other people kept their Christmas trees up longer this year too !On 1/20/2014 blueskies said:Well, would you believe that I still have the tree up , because we're enjoying the colored lights so much , lol .......they're just cheerful . On 1/24/2014 Baba2-2 said:Hi Baba ! Yes , that wind chill is unreal ! Especially where you live . Good that your local/State school depts. decided to keep the children home . I guess it's that polar cold coming down to the lower 48 . Now we know what Alaskans/Canadiens go thru , lol. Omg , couldn't live there . Too dark & cold for too long . Brrrrrrrrrrrr ! Saw the natural gas & propane price gouging in the midwest States . Unreal . They're talking about investigating . Glad to have oil forced hot water , even tho I can hear the tank go " Glug, Glug " all day . Lol. I'm using the 2 electric fireplace/stove heaters , at each end of the house , to offset the oil usage . Oil prices have remained the same as last year around here tho . The low temps just deplete the oil fast , even setting keeping the thermostat lower . Looking forward to Spring ! Have you watched any of the Cottage Farm or Robertas Shows ? Omg, beautiful plants . Want one of each !!! Lol.Another week with frigid temps. No school for the kids today, and possibly Mon-Tues. The wind chill factor is nasty. Brrrrr

SOOOO GOOD to see you Blueskies---We are expecting 5-7" of sNOw tomorrow. Still have so much sNOw still on the ground. Temps in the low 30's today, it was a relief. Had to run to the store and it felt like a Spring day. LOL
Many, many years ago we had a great Nursery/Craft store, now closed, that I loved to shop at. I purchased a wire type tree and kept it up all year round. My DS was just a little guy then. I used to decorate it every month. (Feb. hearts, April Easter etc.) I used to make some of the decorations myself. DS loved it. When he got older I took it work and changed it monthly. Patients enjoyed it. I still have that tree and the decorations. I bring it out once in awhile.
I think I would keep a tree like yours up all year. They are lovely. Take it out on the covered porch for the Summer.
What a great idea downloading that fireplace app.
