I see nice pictures from a magazine, but I do not in any way connect to this type of home decor.  None of my friends or family has ever decorated like this.

@RedTop - me either. I mean, my sofa and loveseat both came from La Z Boy. I love them. They're pretty and comfortable and just regular people's furniture.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Everything is beautiful. However, we ate off paper plates. There were 29 of us at Thanksgiving dinner.

The goblets in the first and last photo are Lenox crystal. I have them in blue, but I don't remember the name of the style.

Re: A Few Pretty Vignettes...

I really like the pinecone dish setting. They were all beautiful.

My grandmother used to go all out at Christmas and Thanksgiving and I even helped polish the silver. I must say, it was a joy to eat at that table! I also remember the big glass punch bowl which, by the way, I inherited and just found out it is worth a lot of money!  Times have changed and we are more casual these days but, I have to say, those memories are special.

Nicely said @jubilant. I do think most of us tend toward the more casual these days, but for both the nostalgia and the simple recognition of what, for many of us, is pretty, I do enjoy these sorts of posts.

Unusual for me, however, I love the colorful setting of the last photo the best.  So light and refreshing for Thanksgiving. Cat Very Happy

Re: A Few Pretty Vignettes...

They are all lovely.

I had Christmas dinnerware/serveware, table cloths, and candles.

I never had Thanksgiving dinnerware *per se*, but you could use any solid color plate(s).  Same for a tablecloth.

Finding a proper vase or vessel and filling it with a thick bouquet of flowers, even adding branches, leaves and flowers from your own yard, it's doable.

I think these pics are great for giving inspiration to do something like this.  Nothing looked ostentatious or over the top.
