A few rooms I've seen recently, that struck me in one way or another--

1).   While I'm not all that crazy about sunken rooms-- for practical reasons-- this living room has such a pleasant, 'garden room' feeling.  Imagine it would be great to be in, in the dead of winter--  let the gloom close in, and the weather turn drizzly!  It would still be cheerful in here.

2).  This tiny den is another great place to shut out the world, if you don't mind small spaces.  I think it might be English, given the slightly outre lamp.  Nice spot to watch the fire and hear the clock chime...Screenshot 2024-10-19 at 2.30.49 PM.png

These next three are of a living room by Heather Chadduck, formerly designer-in-residence at Williamsburg.  She has a way with very traditional interiors, of course, but she often does something non-boring, like here, salting in some modern pottery, the intricate Indonesian-looking chairs and mirror...

3a).

3b).  Love the exotic mirrored sconces too, bringing in a glint of shine...

3c).  Different view of the room.  I can already hear the complaints about the oversize lumbar pillow, ha.  Even for me, it's a bit much.  But easy fix.  Green couch, always a weakness of mine, looks nice and squishy.  Love the charcoal curtains and door.

4).  Sparkling lacquered deep chocolate brown walls in this den, set off by the off-white trim and couch.  Gorgeous fabrics, rug, and horse!

5 a).  A charmingly renovated 1860's cottage in New Orleans, on Bayou St. John.  By Logan Killen Interiors.  Love the sprightly use of gingham here--  fresh and unexpected. Screenshot 2024-10-19 at 2.58.14 PM.png

5b)  The cottage's dining room is so pretty too, with its original architecture and high ceilings, the soft colors, rich old wood floors and pretty French chairs.  So 'New Orleans'!

Re: A FEW MOSTLY LIVING ROOMS

@Oznell  So much light in #1. Never too many windows for me.

The room in 2 is a little too small for me although I love the blue walls.

I love the fireplace in 3 (a and b).

Love the sumptuous green sofa (3c). Like you, I really like the charcoal door, different and pretty. The dog is adorable!

The blue walls in 5 a and b are lovely. Gorgeous floors and hutch.

Thank you for posting...

Re: A FEW MOSTLY LIVING ROOMS

I have to say that I like all the rooms!  Of course there are decor and furnishings I am not a fan of, for example that coffee table in photo !.  Number 2, the den is lovely, comfortable and inviting and a place where I would read and relax in.  The chairs in 3b are beautiful and unique! I like the gingham also in 5A, something different that is an eye catcher.  All in all I enjoyed the different rooms and felt they had charm and appeal!

Re: A FEWam MOSTLY LIVING ROOMS

Room #1 is a lovely space.   I couldn't deal with all those prints and the plaid-ish sofa and chair.  I would feel beter with a more contemporary and slimmed-down look to make the windows and views the focus.

Love the chocolate brown room treatments.

Not much else grabs me.

@Oznell , number 1 is a winner.  I especially love the little table tucked in the corner.  A great spot to sit and work on your computer with beautiful views out the window.

@Oznell

Like the sconces and chairs.  And who doesn't love a green sofa?

Still a little too "full" for my tastes.  But I'd like to see the rest of that house. Woman LOL
