They're in houses that designer Carter Kay did. He has quite a way with old houses especially, and keeping the "character" in his designs.
1). Louisiana kitchen, "on the bayou"--
Love the glass-fronted cabinets, the transom, and the way that the kitchen looks into what seems to be an equally soulful den or sunroom beyond. Loads of atmosphere!
When you're finished making your shrimp etouffe, you can eat it on your lovely porch, overlooking the bayou...
2) Dutch Colonial in Atlanta:
Here I was intrigued by the way they made the rounded lines of the hood, echo the rounded arch of the doors. Also really like the steel and wood worktable/ island.
Other great things-- the old crocks and ironstone, the tall windows, that great black hutch with pewter....
Love this storage:
3). Georgia island kitchen:
This house was described as an historic renovation on a Georgia island. I wish there were more pictures of the kitchen, other than just this fragment-- it's tantalizing!
4) Montana kitchen:
Love the "woodsy" feeling, with the beams and outdoor views:
This house also has a wonderful outdoor space in which to sip your morning coffee--

I like them all, but my favorite is The Louisiana Kitchen and porch and minus the ladder, which looks nice, but is useless for me anyway!
I also do not like super high cabinets that require a ladder, they look pretty but are useless to me!
The Montana kitchen is very inviting, but I do not like the hanging thingy above the Island....

#1 is pretty to look at but in my daily life in my Kitchen I have no time or patience to be moving a ladder around to get something I need out of the cabinets. The porch is lovely but too formal for me. I think it is lacking warmth.
#2, #3, and #4 are all appealing to me...I love black with light colors in a Kitchen.
The black hood is so different and probably won't appeal to most but I like it.
The Georgia Kitchen with the fireplace is beautiful. I always wanted a Kitchen with a fireplace but I don't think that will happen in this lifetime for me.
The Montana kitchen and cozy outdoor space is so inviting and welcoming.

They all have nice qualities, but I notice some dynamic‑movement issues in each one, the eye gets stuck.I love the contrast in the Dutch Colonial, that contrast is everything. But the dynamic movement feels off, and my eye gets stuck.
I also like the Georgia island,at least from what I can see and then imagine. It’s a blend of modern comfort and rustic charm, not overly polished and not overly vintage. Just warm and stylish.

They are all lovely, but a ladder in my kitchen (or any room) would be about as useful as an open elevator shaft.

They're all nice to look at but none of them actually appeal to me as a working kitchen I would want to have and use in my own home. The Montana kitchen looks really nice and homey from that first picture but the second picture (close up) left me with a "meh" attitude towards it.
I do love the two outdoor spaces off the two kitchens!

Where's the microwave over the stove??!! Along with the fridge, that's the most used appliance in my kitchen--LOL!!
Have no use for those huge vents.

There are things I like about every one of them, but if I had to choose...
I could do dishes at that sink.

Loving the Georgia Island Kitchen...
Especially the beams and the stonework - Plus, it appears to be uncluttered, which I truly love! ![]()

Yeah, that one's growing on me, too. ![]()
