A Christmas Village... should I do it?

Every time I am in Kohl's or Michael's this time of year, I see Christmas village buildings & accessories that I think are just so pretty. So far, I have resisted purchasing any.

Today I saw this *video* on youtube and it has weakened me and now I am seriously thinking of starting my own small village... BUT...

I am wondering if this becomes addictive and/or expensive? and my biggest question is- after setting it up and taking it down a few times, does the novelty wear off? I don't want to invest in something and then have it end up sitting in boxes!

I would love to hear opinions from you ladies please. I'm on the edge... should I do it or do you think it's something I will regret starting???
