@Oznell   My Cosy Cottage swan arrived and I love it! I put it on a carved teak chest under the foyer spiral staircase. Behind it are staggered candlesticks with Valerie's black cascading lights.  A black feathered wreath is around one and a satin black bow on the Swan's neck.
     I'll change the bow for Christmas, easy and I can store remotes for candles inside, etc.

@Travone ,  I'm not attracted to that wreath on the mirror either.

Agree with posters that the first vignette could do with a little editing. @SactoSue is right-- the swan OR the urn, not both.  As much as I like that weathered urn, I'd have to keep the sweet, personality-filled vintage swan.

@1Snickers ,  that setting sounds striking; you have a flair for drama. I'm so glad that you and @Seminole2  are pleased with your new swans!

Very nice.

Of course I love birds-- and owls and pheasants are so "fall-perfect". But posting on the "Cozy Cottage" swan made me remember that almost anything can be incorporated into autumn decor, if you love it.

Do you have an item, not typically thought of as "fall", that you like to decorate with this season?

@Oznell  :

I have not decorated with any of the following three items, but I think they could work in fall vignettes (and year-round).

I have always been drawn to the colors of Milk Bone biscuits because of their earthy, autumny colors and have always thought they would look good in a display, for example in a clear canister.

A few other items with fall colors that come to mind that I think could also work are multi-color pastas, and flake fish food.

The earthy autumn colors of the covers and pages of the weathered books look good with the aged vase, swans, and acorns.

Hey, those are imaginative ideas, @QVCisFun !
