It's National Fluffernutter day ! Yea !! ( never heard of this one} ![]()
National Fluffernutter Day is October 8, when we fondly pay homage to the childhood sandwich of peanut butter and Marshmallow Fluff squished between two slices of bread. Fluffernutter holds a special place in the childhood memories of many New Englanders and is memorialized by its own special day on the calendar.
2006 was a big year for the Fluffernutter. A proposal was made in the Massachusetts state assembly to make it the official sandwich of Massachusetts. That same year Fluffernutter became a new Brighamās Ice Cream flavor. The state sandwich proposal failed, but the ice cream was a hit. And the first festival celebrating Marshmallow Fluff was held that summer.
Happy Fluffermutter day to all of you Fluffermutters out there !! ![]()

I used to love those sandwiches! omg.
I don't remember the name of the marshmallow spread we used. It wasn't
"Fluff" I don't think. Maybe it was Kraft Marshmallow Creme.

I don't recall ever even hearing of that combo. Our family favorite was peanut butter and honey.

Well I heard of fluffernutters but my mother didn't believe in giving me a sandwich made of candy. LOL! As if my peanut butter & jelly sandwich was any better. So I never had one but I love both peanut butter and marshmallow!

I loved Fluffernutters but haven't had one in ages. tt was hard to spread Fluff on white bread without ripping the bread.

I believe the fluffernutter is a regional thing where it was invented in Massachusetts. I first heard of them from my friend who is from NJ but before that I never heard of them.
