I went to Michael's yesterday to find a fall item. There was not one fall item to be found in any aisle as it was full on Christmas.
I then went to AC Moore today and they had a tiny amount of Halloween items on clearance, but no fall items.
i know I waited too long and it was not really essential for me to have this item, but it just goes to show that the stores do not wait for the "correct" season to display seasonal items.
Every year, people come to the board to complain about rushing the seasons. Well, it is not even Thanksgiving and there are no TG items anywhere. If you want them, you buy them in August and September when they first put them out.
So, we must congratulate ourselves for buying in Christmas in July because the good stuff is largely gone by now!

I did see some Fall stuff in Walmart yesterday. But, my Fall stuff has been up since the middle of September. I don't want anymore.
And, Christmas is only 43 days away. I do a lot of sewing projects for Christmas, and some I have to mail, so I'm all ready full throttle into the season, LOL!

Stores need to make room on their shelves for Christmas decor, as people will start decorating for Christmas in less than 2 weeks. While some stores like Walmart may have a separate section set aside for Christmas, other stores do not. In Walmart's case, they still have their Harvest and Thanksgiving stuff available. If Harvest and Thanksgiving have been on the shelves since August, I don't see anything wrong with putting Christmas on the shelves in early November.

I went to Michael's one day last week and was attracted to two little 4-ft. trees with a string of lights attached for only $19.99 and bought two of them to place in the upstairs windows facing the street. They supposedly were 60 percent off that day.
In today's newspaper ads, I noticed Michael's is now offering the same little trees for around $25..........so I guess it paid to shop early.

It sure seems too late to me to be decorating for fall and Thanksgiving. At my house, it looks and feels like winter outside. The leaves have changed color and are rapidly starting to hit the ground, tree branches are becoming bare and the squirrel activity has slowed from the frantic running and burying acorns from just a week ago.
Fall stuff is for September and October, and a week or two into November, and if you aren't into it by then, you've about missed the boat! Wait 'til next year!!! LOL!!

@Sooner No snow here, so Fall is September through November, and Winter is from December 1, though not offical until the 21st, through March.

I shop early for all seasons that I decorate for. I need to have a plan but there will always be something that I forgot to pick up and it won't be available anymore. Stores have always been ahead of the seasons if my memory is correct.
Coats in July, summer clothes in January or February, Christmas in July, on and on.
Sorry, @flickerbulb, that you couldn't find your item. I know it is disappointing to look for something and there's none there. I've needed an item for Christmas decorating late in the season and it's all picked over.

I was at the local Michaels yesterday & they had plenty of FALL & THANKSGIVING decor. I wanted to look at a Christmas tree another poster mentioned but was told they don't display or carry any trees in the store, our store is huge so I was surprised by that. The manager happened to be nearby & told me each store is owned & stocked differently & they don't bother with trees. Darn, I wanted to see that $99.00 7ft slim flocked 🌲 in person. Oh well, everyone wants something different so we're lucky we have so many different places to shop.
