I volunteer (and shop) at a thift store and they often get some decent trees for very little money. Yes, some of them are beyond ugly and it's hit and miss but worth a try.

I guess I am just old fashioned but I don't want a tree with PVC tips. I finally found a tree that was exactly what I was wanting. I won't share with you what the tree cost me. I am ashamed to have spent that much money for a Christmas tree when the money could have gone to help soneone less fortunate. I am also ashamed about how sad I was losing my old tree. There were so many memories connected to that tree and I almost felt like I was losing that part of my life again. I hope everyone has a wonderful Merry Christmas and a Happy healthy new year. Thanks again.
@gjc57 You shouldn't feel shame, that is relegated to bad deeds. It's absolutely understandable that you would feel sad under the circumstances, but you will be happy once you have your new tree decorated. As far as money spent on a tree, that will pay for itself before long, and it will bring you so much joy in the meantime.
