My good friend wants to host a group of family and friends for an evening this summer....there will be a 4 person band in their yard, about a 3 hour time frame.

Last year she ( I help host) invited a lot of people, everyone brought a passing dish and she provided chicken sandwiches as well as sloppy joes.    After we ate the band played for a few hours.

Fast forward to this year...she is thinking about a food truck, but we thought people would not participate if they had a family to feed, so I thought maybe snacks, dessert and drinks.  Everyone brings something if they want to eat and we will all just enjoy the band with out  dinner before hand.

Does that sound like it would work...there were so many people last year, we had trouble with space for the food!

Any input will be taken as well as a catchy name for the evening.

Summer Fun Nite or Summer Fun Night, if it be women's a regular thing it can transition to Annual Summer Fun Night

Well I think you need to feed the people if the event lasts several hours. I think a food truck would be great fun.

@Mom2Dogs  "Fast forward to this year...she is thinking about a food truck, but we thought people would not participate if they had a family to feed, "

In my neck of the woods people hire food trucks for private gatherings.  They charge a set amt depending on how many people are attending.  This way the guest do not have to worry about "paying" to feed their families.

Your friend should inquire if that is an option w/the food trucks in your neck of the woods.

@Mom2Dogs "A Summer Night." (The idea came from Grease when Sandy sang about those summer nights.)

Solstice Shenanigans, and were it me, I'd skip it without the food. Just crudites and desserts are sort of lame for a multi-hour event.
