Hummel Nativity

[ Edited ]

I know many are familiar with Hummel figurines.  My grandmother collected many years ago and I  kept several of hers.

I never saw the complete Hummel nativity until I saw it listed online.

I thought some might enjoy seeing it.  It is listed for $800.

@Mersha :  That's lovely. You're correct I've never seen this entire arrangement so I appreciate you sharing with us.

The Hummel Nativity is beautiful.  I did see one 50 years ago.  I think this is a very fair price.  My friends purchased individually over several years, as gifts for their Mother.  I remember how they saved and what they would "give up" to be able to complete this lovely set for their Mom. When I say give up, they were young adults without families to support, so it might have been not going out after the movies or having a game night instead of movies! The good old days!  The group of friends we all understood and went along.

I saw a complete set in Berlin decades ago when I lived there for a few years ,  I had always regretted nit picking it up ,  but it was very pricey ,  this actually is a great price !   I do have several hummels although I never added to my collection once I returned back home .  I was left some from my grandmother as well.

@Mersha That is the set we inherited from my husband's aunt. We have a donkey in addition to the pieces shown here. I would post a picture, but it is at home in West Texas. She bought her set in Germany while visiting a friend there.

@On It   I did not realize a donkey was missing.

You are fortunate to have such a beautiful set.

I thought the price was high but I looked at

some on eBay and they are asking very hefty prices.

So beautiful, I would be tempted to keep it out year around.

We do. Our pieces are in glass display case. They are too beautiful to put away. I think any cherished holiday pieces should be enjoyed year round.

That's really nice.  I'd be tempted as well to leave it on display all year.  The Hummels I've seen have all been children; I didn't know they also had adults and animals.
