Re: Harry Slatkin TSV

[ Edited ]

If the TSV is a candle & reed stick set then it's a pass for me.  I see the reviews on his reed stick sets are very low.  I recently ordered a few of his candles from Amazon and everyone I opened has almost zero scent.  So disappointing.  Got them late last night and took them back to Kohl's for return.  All I did was try to smell something from "cold"....but I can't risk burning or melting them to have no scent throw even at the Prime Day pricing.

I LOVE that he offers the '2 for' because I always split up the set and gift one of the 2 to either my DD or my DGD...they are both on budgets and would not spend the $$$ on Homeworks. They both enjoy burning candles and very much appreciate receiving a candle here and there.

🙈  I'm hope he's not going wear half buttoned shirts that expose his chest hair.

@ManyMeows   LOL!

Unfortunately QVC appears to be shipping candles NOW vs waiting till the cooler days of Fall. I always order these as gifts for specific family and friends but won't be doing so this year.as I don't want melted candles.

One sale lost....not that QVC cares, I'm sure.

@FiddleDeeDee I ordered candles from Bath and Body Works recently and it was in the mid to upper 90s the week they came.

The candles arrived in pristine condition.

If you want to take a chance, QVC would refund you if they arrived damaged/melted.

I like Harry ,  and his candle scents are wonderful!!  I also feel he is very dapper ,  that's the word I would use .  Very well groomed which I like in a gentleman.

@FiddleDeeDee

I believe Homeworx changed their shipping packaging from what they used a few years ago.

Now they're protected inside the box by molded pulp fiber trays that tightly secure the glass candle holders.  They're the same molded trays Vintage Estates ships their cases of wine.

Those trays have great insulation properties that protect from high variations of temperatures.  The wine industry rely on them so glass encased candles are apparently no problem either.

I ordered a different set of Homeworx candles that arrived a couple days ago in 95 degree heat.  The box was outside my door after I came home from grocery shopping, so I don't know just how long it was sitting outside.

They are perfect -- no worries.
