I like this look. It doesn't go with what I've been moving to, but I like the black and white. Someone posted somewhere (probably not here) a really nice black and white Christmas room with fireplace, tree etc. Just a few pops of red. I thought it was stunning, and to me much more Christmasy than the pastel phase that is in right now. 

 

I guess each to their own. Christmas certainly doesn't have to be red and green. Beautiful things done in silver and gold, and blues too.

 

When I hear Harlequin, I think the outfits and colors of the court jester (that isn't meant to be a slam, just trying to describe the color/pattern/look that word brings to my mind). So when people are talking Harlequin in home decor now, is it more about black and white, or is it lots of deep jewel colors and lots of diamond shapes and geometric shapes?

@Mominohio  I thought I was the only one who thought harlequin had Colours!
