Remember the days before store bought costumes and our costumes were created at home? Sometimes we were ghosts, a cowboy, a hobo, a witch or Gypsies.

  Here are my Toni dolls dressed in their home made costumes ready to Trick or Treat  and have their Jack o' lanterns filled with candy.

@Enufstuff    Did you make the dresses?  They are beautiful.  You or somebody did a great job.

@Kachina624    Thank you very much.

   I made all the costumes for my Toni Dolls.

 Several years ago, I designed and made a line of Toni Doll

clothes that I sold online to Toni collectors.

  The dresses were based on the original 1950's dresses that Toni

Dolls wore. The costumes are based on my Gypsy childhood

costume and the Witch costumes I made for my three little girls.

  When my girls were young, I made most of their dresses, some coats, capes and dance costumes. Happy memories.

@Enufstuff..the costumes are gorgeous!  And, yes I do remember making our own costumess for Halloween.  That's what added to the fun of it all!

@STYLE   Thank you very much.

   It was fun to create costumes at home. When my five children were growing up, we saved a lot of things for the "Halloween Trunk".

   Those long black capes that I made for my three girls, were used for many years for other characters. We had a collection of

masks and wigs and clothing, so they could make their own

costumes up. Sometimes it was makeup instead of masks.

  One year my cousin came over and did KISS makeup on my three girls and a friend. They looked just like the rock group.

@Enufstuff,

That must have been so neat to have a mom who made all those great Halloween costumes!

I thought after several years I was having a hard time coming up with ideas for a costume and what to make from sheets etc! My mother thought up things when we were little.

By the time my children were born it was great fun to let them choose what costume they wanted from the store or lots of times they would come up with their own.

Plus costumes certainly went from the plastic silly looking costumes to so creative from the store and that was fun but also could be expensive!

Happy Halloween! It's supposed to rain here but both daughters said they are going out with their little ones come rain or shine! The kids are so excited. It is a very big thing in our neighborhood!
