@SHOPR wrote:I've checked my order history and there was a FREE SHIPPING ON EVERYTHING DAY last July on Sunday, July 9, 2017.
That was the day I bought several things and was able to get the CIJ sale prices along with free shipping. That was a good day! I hope we get one this July!
@SHOPR, let the enabling begin, lol! Just when I think I will be disciplined with this year’s CIJ, you reminded me that I wasn’t disciplined last year either! I am hopeful & hopeless, lol!

@BornToShop Hi, good to hear from you. I'm ready to get going with CIJ. Bring it on. Yes, we have been through a lot of these shows AND bought a lot too.
I hope to stick with a few special pieces this time around if they have some that I just have to have.
@lucymo, your attempt to “just have to have” will be my hope as well! Based on the past CIJ’s, we all know what will happen, lol. I made sure I wasn’t working that weekend. I usually set my alarm to watch the midnight on shows. Not sure if I will this year! Who am I kidding?!?!?

I bought much less last year, compared the the previous two or three. I hope to do that again this year.
And last year, I pretty much stuck with things that were all year or seasonal. Lanterns, flameless candles, and some candle rings/garland/wreath things that could be used from Thanksgiving throughout the entire winter.
I can't actually imagine buying an actual Christmas themed item anymore. I'm just over loaded with them.
I have noticed that Q is catching on to the fact that so many people are resisting Christmas specific buying now, and are showing much more seasonal and all season type decor (again, things like lanterns, flameless candles etc.) during CIJ. Smart move on their part.

@Mominohio and others in the same boat, I also do not want to buy any more Christmas-specific or even season-specific decor. I'm not saying that I won't cave, and I am still very much looking forward to CIJ. If they do a free ship day, I will probably get some more flameless candles and some other stuff that I can use year-round.
I have Christmas decor that I bought last year that I didn't display, so I must keep reminding myself that it'll all still be brand new to me this year.

@SHOPR I did the same thing with things I just bought last year. I'm planning on watching and looking forward to it, but will be much quickier with what I buy.

I know, right. Buying things and not using them. I don't want to get there.
I do have things I've bought within the last five years, and think that maybe I don't need them, or have to rotate some things every other year to be able to use it all. In my point of view, for where I'm at in my life, I don't really need Christmas/holiday decor that I have to rotate to get used. That's just becoming ridiculous in my mind, for me to deal with. It didn't used to, but it seems so now.

I heard her say that she was going to Maine and wouldn't be back to the Q till August so maybe she will have something later this year.

@IdahoMom Saw your post on another thread, and this thread is a great one too! I envy you being able to share CIJ with your mom. My DD and DIL are many hours away, so we have to enjoy it together via email, text and phone. Not quite the same. They are much more temperate than I am. I try to buy things for them, and they keep me in check! Hahaha!
I so wish you could enjoy CIJ in person with them! But thank goodness for technology that makes it possible to still connect! It's definetly not the same though. I'm sure these threads will blow up on Sunday! I'll be thinking about you and your daughters!
@IdahoMom Thanks for your good wishes! Enjoy the day! And remember, you may not find anything to buy, but the it's all about the Christmas bonding!

Just remember if you miss the BIG CIJ shows this Sunday -- for the next 6 months you still see it everyday on Q (except for whatever sells out, of course) and for a few dollars more as the CIJ prices are rarely a big price cut.
I did see the pre-sale for the big nutcracker TSV -- yes $30 off but $25.97 to ship -- ridiculous (would be nice if the CIJ tsv kick-off could be free s/h) Then add on tax another $10.00 or so -- where is the savings???
I will tune in later in the day but I'm forcing myself not to "impulse" buy anymore home or holiday decor!
Enjoy

I will add that I got the oversized nutcracker dude in gold/ivory last year, and I must have ordered and cancelled it ten times trying to make up my mind. My mom finally said get it and she paid for it for my Christmas present.
I really love it (even better than the one they are showing this year), but the shipping on it changed over the course of the season.
The shipping on last year's was high like this, and at times, it (shipping) went way down. So there is always the possibility (and it happens often at QVC) that if you can wait, the price may be higher, but the shipping deal better, and it is actually cheaper to get the item to your door, than it was for the TSV.
Now I need uplifting prayers for strength please.
I saw the new snowman this year, in the gold/ivory, and though I have no place or need for him, I WANT HIM!!!!!
Just say no. Just say no. Just say no.
Somebody here buy him, and I'll store him for you! LOL
