Lottery tickets (if that's not tacky for your circle of friends).

I like to give something in the candle line  or buy some melting chocolate and large pretzel sticks  Melt chocolate and dip pretzel in chocolate and then roll in sprinkles   and do the same with marshmellows  Put them on a stick

Why does it have to be food?  How about some Holiday Mugs filled with hot coco mix or candie or cookies.  You can even fill them with potpourri.  Get some colored paper and ribbon.  You can also put a lable on each one with their name.

I'd go to a craft store and get the cute little plastic bags that are made like paper lunch bags.

I'd put holiday paper shreds in the bottom and do Dove Promises chocolate, some Russell Stover individually wrapped, some Hershey kisses and tie with a bow.  A little something is nice with coffee!

If you live near a Fresh Market, they have the chocolate money and lots of neat things!

@qvc chick  If you aren't looking for homemade, maybe some Godiva chocolate bars?  They are at Macy's for about $2 each when purchased in a 5 pack and using the discount code shown on-line.

@qvc chick

I host a dinner for my card group (10 ladies) and I do the same.  The past few years, I've been doing cute inexpensive ornaments & of course, I bake some cookies to add to the gift.

Last year & again this year I bought these ornaments.  They actually stand or can be put on tree plus they light up (the wish one & joy).  Last year I gave them ones that had a banner "friends"  (1st L).  They are $9.99 I think they were 60% off with additional 25% off so at 4.50/each is a good price.  I know they all liked them.

I took them out of the boxes, dated the bottoms "2017" & my name.   wrapped them in tissue paper put in craft bags.

I picked these up too.

enjoy your friends & Im sure whatever you give them they'll not only enjoy a great dinner, friendship but a little something to think of you!!!  My friends always tell me they like when they take out Christmas they remember the fun times!

Re: Christmas party - handouts, need ideas please!

A Facebook friend of mine received an Amaryllis bulb as a gift at Christmas.  She posted pictures every few days on Facebook with it's progress until it bloomed in late January.

That is a nice disposable gift that will give a little joy in the dark of winter after the holidays are over.

They are usually pretty inexpensive, like $10 or less.
