I'll have to agree with Reever here; primitivism in art and design is emulating or aspiring to a primitive experience by borrowing from non-Western or pre-historic art, but can sometimes by applied to naïve or folk art.

Beautiful dining room!  I have a pie safe just like yours;  I inherited it after my parents passed along with a corner cabinet.   My dining room table is walnut and I have antique cane seat chairs that I bought in West Virginia years ago. There is so much history in antique furniture and most of my pieces are primitive ones.
