Your table setting is perfect. I especially like the wooden bowls that brings everything together with your furniture pieces. It’s all very nice.

@ECBG  Lovely!  Is that a pie safe in the corner?  I love it!

@SXMGirl

Yes.  The piece with the angel is a pie safe.  It holds my table linens and Christmas dishes.  There are water marks around the legs where they used to put the legs in water to keep insects from reaching their baked items.

In the other corner, I found the corner cabinet I have searched for since I was 26.  When I would find one I loved, it always had a sold sign.  It was delivered during the beginning of covid!!!

This set is hand painted.  I found it about 20 or so years ago.

Heartstone Gingerbread boy.  Replacements the big china/didh/ glassware company in Greensboro, NC also gets some of this set.

What is your def. of primitive? This is certainly not primitive.

@Group 5 minus 1

Primitive furniture, also commonly called early American country furniture, refers to handmade tables, desks, dressers, and chairs from before the era of mass production. These pieces often feature interesting carpentry techniques, such as dovetail and mortise-and-tenon joints.

Primitive covers a very wide span of years with the emphasis on hand made.  I have crawled under a lot of furniture before it came in this house.

You may have experienced pieces more rustic.

I taught interior design and wrote curriculum in NC for years.

@ECBG I  would love a pie safe.  My corner cabinet is an antique that I picked up outside of Vancouver.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I found my corner cabinet playing with google image and ended up with Edward Smith Antiques.  He worked with me and was highly reputable.  317 370 5156.  Indianapolis, Indiana.  He has a business FB which of course is public.  With 4 warehouses, he'll send you pictures of everything he has.
