The CIJ shows today for me are pretty much a bust. There are just so many categories of products that I just don't purchase anymore.

Foods...and there are a lot today between ITKWD, the gourmet shows, the TSV, etc

Toys because we don't have kids or grand kids

Ornaments for our main Christmas tree. I'll be using all the vintage & antique ornaments I collected between 5-10 years ago for the rest of my life. I just have no desire to use anything else.

So that pretty much was most of the day's shows...LOL

Kinda sad though. I used to enjoy and look forward to the CIJ period. Hopefully VPH will have lots of really nice/new decor in her upcoming shows. The thing is, unless it is something really, new/different, I probably won't be ordering anything. At least I will still enjoy the shows like always.  Smiley Happy

I've been entertaining myself today by watching youtube videos. I can't do anything outside like work in our gardens with temps near 100 and winds gusting to about 45-50 mph.

Here's a pic of our tree...

@Susan Louise , they are beautiful!  Some remind me of ones my mother bought years ago.  Thanks for the memories 😊

@Susan Louise - Thank you for sharing pictures of your tree and beautiful ornaments. I do not have any vintage ones like you, but I do have the new ornaments that look like the vintage. What a special collection you have to enjoy each Christmas season.

@Susan Louise   Your tree and ornaments are beautiful!   I have a few vintage pine cone ornaments that our neighbor gave us after her mom passed away.  I was probably 16 or 17.  (I'm 64 now).  They were made in Germany, probably from the 40's.  So pretty.
Thanks for sharing.

@Susan Louise

What a gorgeous tree and what beautiful ornaments.  These are the ornaments we fought over as kids and continued to do so when my mother had passed and we were going through her things.   We always called them the Polish ornaments, because they  predated Christopher Radko and were, indeed, from Poland.

I love this kind of a tree and much prefer it to the oddly-colored matchy "theme" trees that are out there.

You certainly don't need to go buying new sets of ornaments.  These are perfect.  Thank you for sharing this with us.

@Susan Louise  I love your tree topper and all of your ornaments and garland!

I have some really old very random as well as a few crocheted ornaments from family long-gone but well-remembered.  And then I have modern versions similar to your retro/vintage gorgeous ornaments.

Question: How would I search for this particular unique shape of ornament---it is in the upper left of your second photo, cylinder-ish shaped (?)  That is a new shape to me.  Just curious.  Thanks
