I'm curious to hear reviews from purchases made from last Friday's Christmas In August event.

I picked up VPH's Sitting and Standing Antique Deer (H212444) in Silver, and they arrived today.  Naturally, I was concerned about them showing up with broken legs and/or antlers, but they arrived in perfect condition.  These are much nicer in person. They have much more detail than how they appear in the photos and on TV, and the antiqued paint job on them is very even and well done.  When the sitting deer is placed directly in front of the standing one with them both looking off to the right, it really looks like they've both heard a sound off in the distance and their immediate reaction has been captured with the design.  The sitting deer's right front leg is bent in a way that makes it look like he's just tensed from hearing the sound, and the standing one's head is tilted back ever so slightly as if it had been grazing and just lifted up its head to sniff the air.  If you've ever spent a good deal of time deer watching, you'll know that the artist who crafted these really knew what they were doing.

@TenderMercies Love your description of the deer! I received the TSV Bethlehem Lights window candles today. Jury is out until I see how they work. Only thing is, I think even the shortest setting is too tall form our windows. They almost reach the first muntin, but the plug-ins we have now only reach half-way up the pane. DH likes the size.

glad to read your good review, TenderMercies.  I ordered these in bronze,

mine just shipped yesterday.  I hope my deer arrive in perfect condition

also. I actually tried to cancel because of the same concerns you had,

but was too late to cancel.

@yellowrose I received the email saying that they shipped just yesterday, and they showed up today. You might be getting them sooner than you think!

I wish, but my orders always arrive on the ETA date.

btw, I agree with PA Mom - your description is really nice.

I will remember to try out displaying  standing deer behind

the sitting one.

I ordered a couple items on 8/26 and just got the email today that they had shipped, I hope they are just slow on sending out the emails. I also agree, great description of the deer.

@TenderMercies  You really had me wondering what the deer heard off in the distance. Smiley Happy  I love to watch real deer, they really are amazing animals.  When we lived on the farm we could sit on our deck and  watch them grazing in our pasture and at a sound they could run and jump any fence we had.

Great review of the deer from Valerie.  I'm sure everyone who is waiting to receive theirs appreciates your taking the time to review them.
