Do you go around the tree or up and down? I always went around...

I go around.  If my hubby wanted to go up and down, that would be okay with me.  I hate decorating a Christmas tree.  

It is easier to take the lights off IMO when they are put on in a round about fashion..less tangling.

when we used to decorate a tree, my husband did both.....now we just display the vintage ceramic tree i made in the early 70's!

Before I started purchasing pre-lit trees I would go around, but I made sure I purchased the General Electric string along lights that easily plug one strand into another.....  I helped my aunt one year do her tree and without that plug on either end it made stringing the lights difficult....  You can find the string along lights at Target, Amazon, Michaels etc....

My Hubby strings the lights up & down. He used to go around but at our local tree store years ago, they showed us how they decorate with the lights & it's actually easier & more uniform. It's easier to take the lights off, too.

We use the origonal size and go around and around.  

I watched a video once of how to do the small white lights and was shocked by how terribly labor intensive it was!

NO way am I going to wrap each branch individually!!!! around and around!!!!
