Why are the Kipling bags so expensive?

Just looking at the TSV and it seems there is no leather so what makes them worth the money.  What is special about them?

Check TSV forum.

A poster was nice enough to give us the item #.

I think the TSV in rose gold is pretty.  I'm not sure if I'll get it, but it's cute.

They are expensive, but longchamps is too--not the same--but more expensive and not a sturdy leather bag either.

I bought a lllemon backpack a few weeks ago, and it was $118.  It wasn't leather either.  A lot of nice brand name bags are high in price.

Meh, the colors are blah and the prints remind me of what my Mom used to carry

I like it, especially in the denim version.  It would work for me in the summer.

I would think supply and demand controls every consumer product.  These bags are popular, so the price reflects that.  I bought one last year in gold and wound up using it the entire summer.  I don't like heavy bags if I can avoid them, so the bag was perfect for me.  When I ordered it, I was on the fence - not sure I'd really like it.  Turned out it worked for me.  I may get another one with the upcoming TSV, but truth be told, I may just use the one from last year.  By the way, most of the top brands of fabric bags are comparable in price or maybe even higher.  I have two nylon DB bags I purchase from another site and they're in that same price range.  Same with VB.  In my experience, I've found fabric bags to be durable and sometimes last much longer than some of my leather bags.

I think all name brand handbags are too expensive.  I dont understand why all leather is so expensive with the number of animals killed for food hides should be very inexpensive.  The processing may be expensive but IMO does not justify the high prices.

I wonder the same about Louis V. bags.  Thousands of dollars for a bag with very little leather.  (But, I want one . . )
