Re: TSV AMERICAN LEATHER AUSTIN SHOULDER BAG

About six months ago, I found  a pocketbook by this company for about $ 50 @ Marshall's.

As I touched the leather, and saw the price, I grabbed it.

It is not the exact same style as I saw on QVC, but pretty darn close. I love it and love using it.

BONUS... it's made in the USA.

@faeriemoon @Flatbush  You both got lucky! The one I have from TJ's that was close to 69 & that was early last yr. With prices rising, I thought the TSV was a great price for that bag.

Re: TSV AMERICAN LEATHER AUSTIN SHOULDER BAG

I have actually been looking for a soft leather bag and saw this in the morning and couldn't decide on a color so was going to order later on my break at work.

Forgot all about it and late last night saw it was sold out when I clicked on the TSV icon and for the heck of it clicked on black and it accepted my order so hope I am going to like it.

NO "FEET"! I never buy leather bags, no matter how muchI love them, if they don't have FEET.

This brand can often be found at Marshalls and TJM for less than half the TSV price.  I think this "Special" offering is extremely overpriced.

True @faeriemoon... I've seen them often on the TJX sites... The other thing I thought was that aside from nice color choices, I'm not sure I've seen a more generic looking bag... Enjoy it if you got it... It did sell out... I wasn't tempted by this one, not being a big fan of shoulder bags... By the way, did you know they brought back the Elizabetta in red and have added suede and croco to the mix...

@Flatbush   This brand is not made in the USA.  They are very misleading about that.  They get their leather in the USA, but they then ship it to India for manufacturing.  So it's Made in India.  That's why the online description says Imported.

The American Leather Company is owned by a private company called, "Affordable Luxury Group."  The co-founder of Affordable Luxury Group is AIMEE KESTENBERG.  ALG also of course owns the Aimee Kestenberg brand as well.

@stevieb Please don't toy with my Elisabetta addiction! LOL!  I have seen the croco (very nice), I have a suede in a color called "mushroom", and I'm wondering if they changed the red.  I think the original red was removed from the roster because they had a lot of issues with color bleeding.  Personally, I don't care for red, but I think if they got it right it would be a huge seller, particularly around holiday time.

I agree the TSV was generic, but I think they were determined to get a leather bag into their inventory below the $100 mark.  I'm not a fan of this particular brand in general, and the TSV wasn't anything special. (IMO, of course.)

Re: TSV AMERICAN LEATHER AUSTIN SHOULDER BAG

Yesterday,I looked at the Norstrom's website & saw the Austin bag on clearance on Norstrom;s Rack for 84. The only difference is that the bag does not have the side zips. I know the faded Rose was sold out quick & they had it in that Color & Black. Also, many of American Leather Co. bags were on clearance if anyone is interested. I doubt they will last long

Re: TSV AMERICAN LEATHER AUSTIN SHOULDER BAG

The leather comes from the USA. The tag in the bag say Assembled in Vietnam not India.  For the price I got the brandy smooth.  The leather is soft glove leather, smells good and stand without feet.  The shoulder strap is perfect for me and does not slide off the shoulder.  The two zipper pockets are perfect for my reading & sunglasses. My phone fits in the front slip pocket.  The first thing out of the box is to check the stitching for tightness straightness, and stress points on a bag. It all passed so I will keep it.
