Really Dillards?

I was looking at a Hammit purse yesterday. I saw one I liked but it was missing the short strap. All the other colors on the floor had there's but I wanted the black. It comes with a short and crossbody strap. I asked the sales associate about it and she said she can get one in the back so I said ok. A few minutes later she comes back with a strap not even matching the Hammit bag. It was some cheap piece of leather from some stash they had in the back obviously . She said this will do. I said nope that I wanted the strap that comes with it. She said they didn't have it and asked if I still wanted the bag and I said no. Mind you this was a $500 bag. I may decide to order online but then again I might just save the money instead.

I ordered my Hammit bag directly from the Hammit website. It had the 2 straps, dust cover bag and it was packaged beautifully. I also received a discount bc it was my first time ordering. I don’t blame you for not taking the generic strap. Those bags are not cheap. Maybe give the Hammit website a chance. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I love mine. Btw- I ordered a matching wallet. I’m extremely happy with my purchase and saved a few bucks too!!

I agree. They package their bags beautifully. I've ordered before and have never been disappointed.

@Meowingkitty If I were you and have time I would contact Hammitt bags and explain what happened. I am sure they would want to know that Dillards tried to give you a cheap strap with one of their bags.

@Meowingkitty At most any price I want all the pieces to work together. For $500 I would definitely want the whole package.

I'm cynical enough to wonder whether the strap disappeared in Hammit's warehouse or a Dillard customer walked off with it.

I'm very surprised they didn't offer to just order you a new bag.. That's very poor customer service,

I have a Hammit that I bought at Dillards and matching wallet and they are very nice bags.

Maybe it had been on a display manakin and some weird way was mislocated

My guess is someone walked off with it because the other bags had lots of stuffing and the short strap was also wrapped and this one had minimal stuffing and no strap.
