DB bags can be expensive. (It's a relative term.). It's unfortunate that we can't reach in and feel the leather, because DB does a great job with patent leather.

What's happened is that discount chains and brands have gotten very good at creating fake patent--which is not patent leather. That goes for any other well-known silhouette/look they created out of cheap, disposable materials.  Unless you know it first hand, you don't know the difference.

As for the price, many who hang out on the threads are great at spotting the best bargains for DB. $160 isn't bad for that bag. 

(I edited my original remarks. The pebble leather original is also on sale it's sale price is lower than the patent leather version.)

So I did weaken.  I am on waitlist for the mink.  I do hope that someone has buyers remorse.  It will be a nice event bag.  I like the blue interior.

Beautiful you have good taste. I.would need to match a patent shoe with it and they are hard to find unlike years ago.

I'm not even sure what overpriced means.  Is it the same as expensive or just costing more than the person speaking wants to pay for it.  To me, overpriced means I can buy the very same item elsewhere for less money.  Sad to say, most overpriced bags I'm attracted to rarely get to a price I want to pay until I'm no longer interested at all.  My closet is already full of old things!

The older I’m getting, the heavier my huge Dooney bags are to carry all day....lots of heavy hardware and Florentine leather, while gorgeous, weighs almost as much as my smallest 13” beagle when loaded up...Can’t imagine carrying her around all day.

Have gone back to my cotton coated canvas LV bags for now to rest my shoulders. Going to sell a few really lg. LVs on eBay and 2 original lg. Coach bucket bags...no phone pockets inside and haven’t used in a decade.
