I really like their bags -- I get most of them on the secondary market (Poshmark, ThredUp) and it's a testament to their quality that the used bags have all been in excellent condition. 

That said ...

I'm not a big fan of the metallics or the patents because those are not nylon -- they're plastic and I don't think they'll hold up as well, so I look for the "OG" nylon bags.

Agreed on the metalics on Lug bags. I could not stand the feel of that material and returned the bag.

I don't care for these overly organized brands with a separate pocket for every item in your bag.

I'm a nylon convert too and like medium size crossbodies.  Leather purses were getting too heavy.  I got on the Lug train for a while but now I like Baggallini purses.  They can get pricey too so I watch for sales.  Sometimes I get lucky at TJMaxx and Marshalls.

Kipling is great quality but I like a little more structure than they provide.  I had one for years and I will say it washed very well on delicate cycle!  I often see them at Marshall's now.  Great value.

Agree they are hard to watch but their Tsv are way too small.  I do not want another tiny purse.  One is enough.  Women's clothes have either no pockets or so tiny that things fall out.
