I wonder if QVC is phasing out Tignanello

Right now if you search Tig bags they have a grand total of 28 and that includes clearance and as is.  Some of them have been around for at least a couple years. Makes me wonder.

I don't know, but I've always liked the Tig bags.  They seemed nice quality and reasonably priced compared to "some."

Have you liked them 151...?

I used to think they were reasonably priced for a leather bag--until I found out the trim and handle were plastic!!

Sadly, I will not purchase from QVC. I just do not believe that the quality is there for this brand. I purchased a Tig at least four years ago from TJ Maxx or Marshalls. I have had no problems with it, and I still can place it in my rotation of purses to use.

I purchased two from QVC, one of them was a TSV from a few years ago, I opened up the box and the zipper  was not sewn in correctly, it was bubbling at the top of the purse. I promptly returned.

I purchased another one that I received many compliments on. Truly a beautiful purse, thank goodness I purchased during the holiday return period. The inside lining separated from the sides of the handbag. I returned this as well and that was it for me.

That's why I don't buy Tig bags!  I want all leather--no shortcuts or fake stuff!

Personally, i don't give a rat's patootie about what they make the handles from and I LIKE that the bottoms are PVC because then I can wipe them off with a disinfectant wipe and not damage them.As for those that say they wear out because they are PVC I say they "wear out" because you don't care for them. I will never pay what they ask on QVC for a dooney, oryany , gili or any of those other way overpriced purses just for something to carry around my kleenex and my phone and wallet.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this brand disappear from the handbag landscape altogether. The current owners control so many brands of handbags that some of them have simply got to be considered superfluous sooner or later, if only from a manufacturing and marketing point of view. I'd imagine the return on their investment is greater from other lines.

I'd also note that QVC really is NOT the only place to find a bag... There's really no need to limit one's comparison shopping to brands sold on QVC... If one is seeking bags in the price range QVC has currently placed Tignanello, (which frankly, is high compared to other retailers of the same brand) then there are scads of bags out there at this price point, and quite a few nicer ones.

Re: I wonder if QVC is phasing out Tignanello

I bought a tig last summer that I absolutely loved but it is black and I was looking to get a more summery color as it will be getting very summery here in fl. very soon. i was dissappointed that there was very little to chose from. One I liked but it is too small for my necessary stuff like my wallet - which is  oversized but I like it because I can wear it crossbody if I want to and put my cell in the side pocket, thus leaving the rest of my purse in the car. I find myself doing this more and more often, so i can shop or eat hands free at all the various outdoor events down here.

I had/have a Tig bag that I really like.  The PVC/plastic strap has at least 10 large visible cracks in it.  The rest of the bag is fine, but I cannot use it with the way the strap looks.  No more Tig for me either.  On a side note, does anyone have experience with a shoemaker having leather purse straps?

No matter when or what you write about Tig on this board there has to be those who start the ranting and raving about the PVC handles and the original point gets lost in their old, boring , same ole , same ole rants. OK already, we are all aware that Tig is not 100% leather. Let it go already! That has NOTHING to do with the point of this thread. There are many of us who love our tig bags and would like a discussion without this rude interruption. Go buy your Dooneys - who cares what you buy - some of us don't like Dooneys and would like to discuss a different brand.
