Was about to order the already overpriced Dooney bag and saw it was $11.99 shipping. Come on QVC that is ridiculous on that size bag !!

I am waiting for free shipping to get a Dooney bag because shipping is too high with the bags, I agree!

I would check to see if possibly Dillards, Nordstroms, etc  has it with free shipping.

The shipping at both QVC and HSN is out of control.  I ordered a $16.36 item with $5.50 shipping and the tax was $2.01 because they apply tax to shipping. So the $5.50 shipping is actually $6.01 after the sales tax is applied on a $16.36 item.  

Last Fall, I stopped ordering from QVC after they offered months of free shipping to new customers totally ignoring the loyalty of long time customers.  A month or so ago, I started ordering only items with free shipping.  Today, because it was a clearance price, I ordered an item with shipping which (I am embarrassed to say) is when I discovered the true shipping cost for the first time. 

Is it even legal to charge tax on shipping?

It depends on your state, but most states collect tax on shipping cost.  It's not QVC's decision.

@KCSL I was going to say what @QVCkitty1 already did, and you can almost always do better at Dooney's website. 

They have sales through out the year, but I have found the best sales when they do 12 Days of Dooney. 

I have gotten zipzip pebble leather satchels for as low as $119.00.

I purchase all my Dooney bags from the dooney website with free shipping and also their prices are cheaper than QVC for some of the exact same bags, however if there is a specific bag you want it may not be on the dooney webisite which is never a problem with me I just search and always find a great deal.

@KCSL  I completely agree with you and the price for Qurate to ship bags is a big reason (along with the fact that they rarely discount) that I no longer order many bags here. GIven the price of a nicer leather handbag, most other retailers ship free. I suggest you check out the Dooney site and the ILOVEDOONEY site (which is more or less the Dooney outlet), as they both run very good deals and usually charge less shipping. Good luck to you.
