Anyway, I was looking around and you are so right about not being able to find a slouchy red satchel -- they are structured. 

The closest thing I found is a slouchy Hobo Illumin in Rio that I thought was a possibility until I saw the measurements. The width is 0.5 inches and I said WHAAATTT?? 

• Brushed Antique Brass hardware
• Top zip closure
• Exterior: Back wall cell pocket
• Interior: Back wall zip pocket with 1 pen and 2 slip pockets on top; Front wall 2 slip pockets
• Fits your cell phone, reader and smaller tablet
• Wanderlust lining

• 16.5" W x 10.25" H x 0.5" D

Love the name of the lining though...Wanderlust...

I like it better in Seafoam...

@EdithEllenLily  I've given up on the red satchel search for now...Maybe in the fall...I have, however, been toying with a summer tote fromm Camuto... Sold out here, though they keep reminding me I looked at it... Why, I have no idea... On better sale elsewhere anyway ... The blue and white is pretty for summer but I'm loving the tigers...
