I just received a Dooney zipzip bag. I like the look and size of it. A bit undecided on how stiff it is, but what is troubling is how difficult the zipper is to "zipzip". Have any of you guys had trouble with this.  I am pretty resolved to returning it. It is very awkward to try to zip.

No, I have many zip zips and have never had any problems with the zippers. I would send it back and get an exchange.

I have four zip zips and the last one, which I got 4 or 5 months ago, has a very stiff zipper unlike the others.  I got some WD-40, soaked a cotton pad with it and rubbed over the zipper then zipped and unzipped it about 20 times.  Made a world of difference.

If I hadn't had the WD-40, I would have taken a wax candle and rubbed it along both sides of the zipper.  This works too.

Dooney zippers are usually the best but...........dose your bag have the 2 zippers that go up and over?  That one would be a nightmare for me.  The straight across the top are the ones I bought - and zipper is smooth - never snag - and a clean Go.

I've never been interested in the style of zipzip - but they've sold many.  Return now if you don't like it -

@fthunt    Dooney has apparently gone to a cheaper zipper.  Trust me, it's not the same as in the older bags.

Yes, mine is the one with the 2 zipper pulls that go up and down over the bag. Very difficult to pull the zippers.  Thanks for your reply

@LOVEMYFURBABY  Did yoy keep it or return it ? I do enjoy nice things, pretty things just like anyone. But I know it it does not function for me the way I want it to or need it to, I will not use it. I think that is my last ditch effort with Dooney. I had one several years ago, it was so heavy could barely use it. I had another one some years later and returned  because it was so awkard, I doubt I will buy another. I do have a dooney nylon bag that is great.  I am going back to Micael Kors or brahmin.

Re: Dooney zipper

[ Edited ]

@webbgarner1  @LOVEMYFURBABY and others with stiff Dooney zippers, what's worked for me is running an old candle along the zipper a few times and then zipping and unzipping several times and then repeating the process as necessary. @Kachina624  I do this before resorting to WD40, as the smell is so pungent.
