I have both Dooney and Tig.  Love the Tigs.  I do have several Brightons and others but still go back to the Tigs and have for years, have about every color and TJMAX has great prices.

I use to use and love Tig bags but then I bought a Dooney and now that's all I own. I gave all of my other brands away.

LOVE my D&Bs, LIKE my Tigs a lot but there are differences as others have indicated. I happen to like outside pockets that I can access quickly & find my Tig bags have that. Many of my Dooneys that have outside pockets come with the downside of knowing I'm going to get an Arm Workout that day..lol.

I have 2 Tigs that I really like. I cannot tell which is the PVC in either of them. I am okay with using the PVC in the strap and on the bottom; the bag will wear better and they are far less expensive than D&B.

I have a bunch of Dooneys that I also love and enjoy carrying.

Sometimes PVC wears as well as leather and sometimes it doesn't. From what I gather, the PVC used by Tig does not hold up. Judging from the looks of it on bags I've bought since they started mixing materials, I can believe it. I've not had any of it begin cracking or peeling, probably because I don't use the bags often.

tignanello used to have beautiful bags. They were all leather. I have one in two colors that was very nice. I remember they had tons of colors. I forget the name.

Re: Dooney vs. Tignanello

I've had a few Tigs over the years, and picked up a beautiful one after Christmas for a steal at Steinmart. $40 for a pretty medium royal blue zip top satchel, with tassel.  Good size, too.

I also ordered my first Dooney shortly after that.  I returned the Dooney, it was way too heavy and awkward, for me.  Large Lexington in pebble, got it for $114 on I Love Dooney, it was also a steal.

Hated to return it for that great price, but I found it was so uncomfortable to use.

I've been using the Tig daily, love it and it looks great.  I can't tell if the handle is pvc or not.

I agree with you about coach, (and I do have many, but no more) and also about D&B.  They are very heavy and I don't like the contrasting stiching and all the hardware.  I have many from QVC and honestly am sorry I bought most of them.  I personally like a softer bag and was going to purchase one of their new smooth leather bags until I read the reviews.

To feed my handbag addiction I have turned to Kate Spade, nice styling, but I do avoid the "hard" ones.  I am waiting patiently for delivery of the new orYany satchel, first time trying this brand but the bag looked so beautiful.

Some of us don't want to carry a heavy bag like a Dooney. Others don't want to pay that much, others ,like me ,do not feel they are value for the money. Personally,I think they are ugly and don't offer necessary organization.I love my Tig bags.Pretty, organized and whoever said they don't tell you on air that the trim is vinyl is lying. It is plainly stated in the online description and by the hosts. It never bothered me ,I appreciate being able to easily clean the bottom of the bag,and I'm not a leather snob.I love all my Tig bags.

I've watched several presentations in succession and they DID NOT inform the audience that the bags have plastic/pleather bottoms, handles and trim.  They did pick up each bag and show the metal feet, all the while glancing over the fact that the bottoms are plastic.  The last was a supposed "large pebble" leather.  Astonishing since D&B first marketed real pebble leather, All Weather Leather" which is not a finish at all but results from intentional shrinkage of the pelts and results in a uniiquely durable leather.

Some refuse to spend D&B level money on a purse.  Good for them.  But I won't cheap out on a purse after owning quality items.  From my first Dooney and Bourke in 1994 to my latest April 2016 Florentine satchel I have never been disappointed.  No a one of the originals are "heavy". They are all impeccably constructed.    (Michael Kors, another favorite, has supplanted Coach in the career bag arena.  If you want a heavy bag try his).

Just so you know- you can spot a cheap handbag from across the room.  One can fool oneself, if that is what is required, burt everybody else knows! Sort of like Hannibal ID'ed Clarice's cheap practical shoes from inside his cell. You're only fooling yourself.

I'm a Dooney lover and do not own anything but Dooney bags. I love them, but I'm wondering how Tignanello compares. They look so pretty and many of the bags allow for organization which goes well with my OCD organization. Any thought on comparison from those of you who have tried both? Thank you!

Another way of looking at it....what would Jesus spend his money on?  A Dooney or a Tig?  And, how many would be enough for him?
