They're complete different levels of handbags. Dooney is the far better brand, whether it works for one or not. At one time Tignanello was a nice brand, though I don't think it was ever really in the same league as Dooney. But since then, they've begun to significantly compromise their constuction. There are a lot of brands around that compare with Dooney and many brands that I personally like far better, but Tignanello, despite having some useful, practical and attractive bags really isn't at that level. I use bags from both, but clearly don't equate the two brands.

I have several Gili (which I love for its softness), an Aimee Kastenberg (which I love for her original designs), three Dooney and Bourke (which I love for its structure/quality), and one Tignanello (which I love for its softness and compartments).

The Tig I have is A266991. I purchased it back in April of last year. It has held up very well and I use it as often as I do the D&B, Gili, and AK. I have no problem with the lining in the Tig, nor how it is made up, whether it is leather or not. What I really like about the Tigs are there are many compartments on the outside that meet my needs/wants.

I usually record the handbag shows for these brands and zip thru them to see if there is anything I like. Right now I am looking for a true red purse and can't seem to find it with any of these brands I have been using. There are colors like tomato, persimmon, etc., but not a true Christmas red. Smiley Sad

I would not hesitate to get another Tig, as long as they continue to produce bags with lots of outside compartments.

In terms of "designer quality" bags, no, Tig is not on the same level of D&B.

Having said that, I've never been a fan of D&B styles. They just don't usually appeal to me. I do like and own some bags from other brands on that level.

And I have a Tig bag (vintage cargo hobo or something like that ) that I liked so much that I bought it in three colors. The non-leather parts don't bother me at all.

I couldn't agree with you more.  Comparing a Dooney to a Tig bag to me is like comparing apples to oranges.

Thanks ladies for all your replies!  I do love the construction of the Dooney and based on all your feedback on both brands I'll stick to my Dooneys! Thanks again.  I knew I could count on QVC ladies' input! Smiley Happy

Some of us don't want to carry a heavy bag like a Dooney. Others don't want to pay that much, others ,like me ,do not feel they are value for the money. Personally,I think they are ugly and don't offer necessary organization.I love my Tig bags.Pretty, organized and whoever said they don't tell you on air that the trim is vinyl is lying. It is plainly stated in the online description and by the hosts. It never bothered me ,I appreciate being able to easily clean the bottom of the bag,and I'm not a leather snob.I love all my Tig bags.

I have been carrying a black Tig bag since August. Yesterday I was wearing tan so I changed over to a tan/black and bone colorblock nine west vinyl bag to go to sewing club. One of my friends noticed my bag and fussed over it so then everyone was complimenting  how pretty it was. A $30 bag. Clearly, not everyone is a leather purse snob.

Speaking purely for myself, I'm in no way a leather purse snob. I use pricey bags, I use inexpensive bags, I use leather bags, vinyl bags, canvas bags and so on. But when purchasing a non-all-leather purse, I'm going to be paying a whole lot less than QVC charges for Tig's mixed media items. And when I do see I Tig I might want to consider, I often see it at TJ Maxx, where the prices for them are literally around half what they go for here.

They are heavier than some. I got used to my Shelby shopper, however. If you don't like heavy, they aren't for you.
