I personally prefer Dooney over coach, and I have both. I find Dooney makes a better product. As far as price, they are about the same, both are very prestigious.

Well, you don't have to  be terribly impressed.  Both are nice bags.

Though I'm not a big fan or either, both are nicer brands that make a range of handbags from the rather mundane one sees coming and going, up to bags that are more elegant with price tags to match. That said, I'd agree, neither brand maintains the cachet they carried at one time... As for me, I'm more inclined to be impressed, or not, with a specific bag rather than by a label.

I personally don't like Coach. I had a bag and a wallet of Coach and I gave them both away about a month after I got them. They just didn't seem well enough made for me. And they often (as unfortunately all brands do a bit) do bags with logos on them. I HATE THAT!

I have 7 Dooney bags and I absolutely LOVE them. I do also have 2 Prada bags which were crazy expensive and I don't like them nearly as much as my Dooney's.

Just compliment her no matter what she got. Many ladies like compliments like that.
