I wish Ihkwip and Lug would make some small backpacks as alternatives to medium size purses/crossbody bags. Having 2 sttraps allows weight to be balanced on the back as opposed to a sling or crossbody bag, which would be so much safer for me to use as someone with mobility issues.  The leather backpack purses are too heavy & stiff for my siituation. Thanks!

@jo21  Macy's sells Kiplinger which are lightweight backpacks with two straps. I have one and it is user friendly.

@jo21

Lug & Ihkwip both sell backbacks; especially Lug. Look on their websites or Lug Live app if you can't find at Q.

More flexible, lightweight, small backpacks are out there.  Perhaps not by these two brands, but look around.  Check dimensions, lots of times they also give the volume which is wonderful.

ETA:  Many are also washable 😘

I agree. I've been looking for a small backpack. I have slings already.

I like backpacks on others more than I like them on myself.  If I owned and used a backpack I'd be more likely to sling it over one shoulder than wear it the conventional way.

I am definitely not a back pack person, hated them when I was younger and they just don't exist in my wardrobe today.I LOVE handbags, Love carrying them, seeing them on other folks' arm and wil adjust what I'm carryin to accommodate them. To me they are not really utilitarian-they are (important) fashion.

@jo21   When I had both kids as toddlers with me, I had a backpack to be handsfree...before crossbody came along.

I needed to remove it every time I needed something and once had my wallet stollen from it being behind me. Nope I'll stay w/ a crossbody.
