@Kachina624 wrote:@willowbark. Did you know Bruce and Kathy are divorced now? I believe he has remarried.
No, I don't follow their lives.

@Estellee VZ & BM were partners designing the "Tignello Handbag" I googled it.

I still have mine but haven't used them in years. The leather is soft but the bags tend to be very heavy.

I only ever owned one B.Makowsky handbag. I did love the color...a very pretty, different, light, spring plum color. And it was a cute shaped, mid-sized, crossbody/shoulder bag. Nice quality, soft leather. I do wish sometimes I still had it...loved that color!
I purged it in one of my decluttering binges, probably about 10-12 years ago. I had hardly ever used it, and it always was, as were his bags in general, too heavy... bulky hardware & leather. I just didn't reach for it much. I never was a "bag girl" then...I'm a little more of one now, but lately lean toward my easy lightweight, nylon crossbodies, for everyday running around...Lug, Baggalini and I have one Aimee small phone bag.
His bags weren't my thing....for dressier, leather bags, my preference and style was much more Dooney, still one of my favs. His bags, and his signature look, was slouchy with heavy, bulky, bright hardware... I prefer a structured bag, with "quieter" details, hardware, logos.
He surely was popular on Q, for a while. I have an aunt who had tons of them and loved them! But she and I have very different taste on most things.
Good for you, @willowbark that you still have your collection and are enjoying them. Money well spent for you.

I didn't buy the ones with the heavy hardware but I know what you mean. Also, the leather on the ones I own are thick and substantial but not heavy.
I purged all of my Tig bags, and a couple Dooneys that were just cumbersome and heavy but I did keep some Dooneys not many.

I didn't know that about Tigs. I have one left and it is heavy. It is a crossbody with three layers and two have the hidden pockets and the middle section is zippered. Very clever and secure but heavy on the shoulder with just a few things placed into it. So, it's next in the donation bin unfortunately.

I only have 3 Dooneys, gave a 4th away, that my mom had passed down to me...was pretty, just didn't see myself using it much. But yes, Dooneys can be heavy as well! If I buy another, as I sometimes browse around, it will better suit my lifestyle now and be a smaller everyday crossbody. I just don't want to be weighed down with a big bag, never did. I just carried them to work when I was working, or now, out for an occasion...when my everyday nylon bags are too casual.
I also bought a few smaller Patricia Nash bags for the first time last year, and love them both. There's many styles I see of Dooney, PN, I love, but I just don't need anything really, and don't want to store more of them! But I never say never. ![]()

I thought the linings were cheaply made. I always thought he was kind of smarmy.

true. Was never a big fan of animal print lining but not really a fan of red lining either in dooney's or the words of encouragement lining in Aimee's bags.
