I bet you never heard of this. At first I thought it was ridiculous, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.  If you have a lot of bags and enjoy switching them out on a regular basis, you use a purse bowl. Take a bowl of your choice large enough to hold the contents of a handbag and place it (usually) in your entryway when you enter your home.

When you come home, empty the contents of your purse into the bowl for the next day.  You can then switch out your bags on a daily basis with no drama.

I actually fished out a bowl that was I was going to donate and placed it on my server.  I'll use it as my purse bowl going forward.  Many people take this a step further and get bowls to blend with their decor.  Luckily my bowl will look quite nice on my server.

When I worked outside the house I did this daily, I used a basket that I emptied my bag into every evening. In the morning I moved the contents to whatever bag I was carrying that day. It was easy and I never gave it a thought, same as changing my clothes.

@We rescue cats  I think that's such a smart idea and it never occurred to me to do this!  And then we tend to use the same bag over and over again despite having a whole closet full of them.

I always did this because I matched my bag to my outfits. I still do it except the purse bowl is now an enameled cast iron oval dutch oven in the kitchen.Woman Very Happy It has a lid that covers the purse contents.

I do this but instead of a bowl, I use a a pouch.  The pouch has a few other things I always have on me cash, id, credit card and few make up things.  I bounce the pouch from bag to bag. Works perfectly for me.

I empty and change my purse in April and October. Never had need for a bowl. Didn't know people did that.0

Sure does sound like a lot of trouble....but if it works for you, great.

I bought a huge Patricia Nash bag that was too big to carry. So I leave it on my desk at home. It holds my small and big wallets,2 different sunglasses depending on how bright it is,brushes, lip balms, etc. I like to match my purse to outfits and/or shoes so I switch out my bags all the time. When I get ready to leave,I fill it up from the big bag. When I get home,I empty the contents back into the big bag. That way,I get to use all my various bags in size and colors. All my stuff is readily available.

I like this idea.  I sort of didn't like the idea of the contents of my purse just laying out there for all to see.  I can put my Le Creuset to double duty!
