misrepresentation of Splish Splash Geranium

I'm a landscaper and the potted plants during the presentation of the 'Splish Splash' geranium were not accurate.  The picture on screen was, but the plants on the table were annual geraniums.  The habit of the perennial geranium is more of a ground cover, rambling type plant, not an upright broadleaf plant with tight flower clusters.  I thought that it was very wrong to show one thing and then ship another.

Re: misrepresentation of Splish Splash Geranium

Their plants (Roberta's) SUCK.  I have wasted enough money on their ****** and won't ever be buying any from them again.  The geranium "Splish Splash" was so inaccurately described it's practically fraudulent.  And the "lime" tree.   They act like you're going to have limes tomorrow.  Such fraud.  Should be against the law.  OK I've vented enough.

Suffice it to say I think their plants are all a waste of good money.  Just go to a local nursery and get plants you know will live!

@Catlove   Welcome to the Forums! I was wondering the same thing. I have other cranesbill geraniums, and they certainly don't have that habit. I was intrigued, so I searched the web for other providers. Didn't see any that looked like the QVC representation.

@ozzbee  It was actually Barbara King who offered the Splish Splash. I ordered phlox from her last year, and they turned out really well. I do think the geraniums were misrepresented.

They certainly are unusual - unlike any cranesbill I've seen.  Like Alberti said, they look like mini hydrangeas.  We'll have to wait for the reviews to come in.

Re: misrepresentation of Splish Splash Geranium

I am glad I am not the only one to notice this!

I have perennial geraniums in my retaining wall and they look nothing like what she was claiming hers to be.  Those were representations of annual geraniums with the "splish splash" color on them.  It's extremely misleading and should not be allowed.

I ordered several flowers from Barbara King last year and they were ALL a disaster.  I ordered her Red Marvel Hibiscus and and a set of her red daylilies.  The bare roots came broken, molded, and completely unacceptable for planting, but I planted them anyway.  I did receive a replacement for the hibiscus and only one out of four grew.  The daylilies didn't even sprout a leaf.  I know not to expect a full and lush plant in the first year of planting, but there wasn't even a sign of life on those daylilies.  I am an avid and experienced gardener.  There was no reason for the outcome I had except for her inadequate plants.  I read her plant reviews last year and they were all pretty much terrible.  The misrepresentation on her geraniums yesterday just confirmed how I feel.

After nearly 30 years of shopping with Q, there are 2 things I've learned never to order....live plants and shoes.

I got her red marvel hibiscus last year and they looked beautiful when they bloomed. Waiting to see what happens this year. I just looked at them and they weathered well.

I did order the geraniums this time, I love the idea of hardy.

Hibiscus is hardy and beautifully. I have a large rose one on the side of my home. Blooms all summer...

Re: misrepresentation of Splish Splash Geranium

@CJC i hear you about the shoes!  Especially when you can get free exchanges on some shoe sites. I've gotten a letter from QVC and just can't afford any more returns. I was kind of liking a pair of sandals the other day, but no no no I had to stop myself.

The plants sold here get so many bad reviews, it's a wonder they still offer them. It puzzles me how they can offer care information when gardening zones differ so much. We had a day of 110° last summer. Certainly some of those full sun plants wouldn't have  survived that.

I've ordered two plant items even though we have many nurseries here. I'm a sucker for gardening items. I hope everyone who is not pleased with their purchase gets a Replacement or refund.
