lilac bush question

We have a lovely small lilac bush in our yard here at the campground. It was trimmed back this spring before we got here and never bloomed. the bush looks healthy though. Any ideas - beside miracle grow bloom booster - we can feed it so we get blooms next spring? WE have been putting bloom booster on it simply because that is what we have.
