I know they like air flow. Mine are in front of a railing so that's taken care of. They like to be watered at the soil level, not the flowers and leaves. Mine get holes from buggies. I spray top and underneath of leaves with a repellent. They don't like to be crowded.

I usually plant zinnia seeds directly outside in the ground. This year I started 72 zinnia plants inside and I put tray on top of the refrigerator because its warm and by the third or forth days they started sprouting. I was like I guess putting them on the fridge really works. I just planted them outside in the ground last week.
