We're used to seeing Wild Turkeys here all the time, but never where she was.  This young adult female was alone, which is also strange, just below my new blueberry bushes.  That's what those little cages above the tree are around.😃

I was pretty far away, but able to snap a few pics before she made her way back to the woods.😃❤️🦃

I wouldn't have known what she was! I've only ever seen Turkey Vultures.

And blueberry bushes-yum!

I wonder if she was enjoying themWoman Happy

She's so pretty! I bet she's having fun wth the blueberries! We have one that cones fairly often but haven't seen her for a few weeks. There's also a tom that was coming but I think he's in a freezer now because I've not seen him . . .

a few years ago we had 2 hens that came regularly, they showed up one day with a bunch of chicks with them, probably a dozen or more.

@We rescue cats

Aw, I sure hope the Tom isn't gone for good...  like that.

We have a bunch of wild turkeys here.  My dad feeds them on top of a clearing where they like to go, but we don't eat them.❤️

Pretty soon, I'm hoping to get a picture of a big Tom all feathered out.  But, I don't know if that will happen or not.

I was just really shocked to see her alone.  They always travel in big groups of 10 or more.  I hope our new neighbors aren't avid hunters.

@cheriere i've heard they aren't usually alone. Maybe she wanted a day to herself, LOL

I see wild turkeys around here a lot!  And I am absolutely thrilled every time I do.  I have this silly delightful reaction to seeing them that I hope I never lose.  I saw toms display for the females and it was so cool to watch (the females totally ignored the 4 displaying boys).  I am careful every time I drive just in case a flock crosses the road in front of me. Thanks for posting the pic of the female @cheriere ,

She's a pretty one @cheriere

Yes she maybe wanted some time alone😄.  They do travel in groups.  Just watch getting too close, we would see them where I grew up and they can get pretty aggressive especially during mateing season.  ❤️

Who on earth did they tell, the game warden?  That's crazy.  I sure hope it didn't cause you any trouble.

For folks who do hunt them, there's a season here just for turkeys, but we don't.
