I love Birds.... my mother would always have bread crumbs wih her and would feed them all the time.  I have a tiny creamer that my mother gave me with the story of trying to save a tiny bird by letting him drink from the creamer.  She had the most tender heart.  All the animals she kept and loved came to her for help and help them she did.... God sent all lost and hurt animals to her and she loved them well ....and then found homes for them.

When we were visiting my Dad at the Convalescent center prior to her getting sick, she would see a hawk in the sky and in a wonderous voice would say, "There's my hawk"......

They passed away 11 months from each other and I see them every time I spot two hawks.... and I always seem to see two of them together.

Thank you for posting such sweet pictures....

@cbrite ~ A beautiful thrush!!!  I can't tell what type from the photo but definitely a thrush! Isn't he beautiful?  May I ask where you are from?  I ask because we get them around here in the Spring and Fall.  I always look forward to seeing them.  Have you ever heard a hermit thrush sing?  If not you have to google it ~ it's probably the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.  Thanks so much for sharing!  :-)

@cbrite ~ I'm kind of a bird nut around here, lol. I googled hermit thrush and I think that's what it is.  You can tell by the darker stripe in the throat area as well as the heavily streaked chest.  He (or she) is much too large to be a wren ~ also, thrushes are in the same family as the American Robin.  This beauty has a very similar build.

I'm not pointing this out to be argumentative, please don't misunderstand.  I'm just so excited that you saw one in your garden!  It'll probably be another month or so before I start seeing them here (Illinois).  :-)
