The grower nursery that I visited today was a huge disappointment -  they were limited on stock!!! I guess I am too late even though its been cold, rainy daily, etc.  I surely thought I was timely.  Tomato plants were really limited. Hate to admit I had to go to box store.

Most of the nurseries around here don't grow all their own stock.  They get deliveries just like the big box stores, just not the same source (aka Bonnie).  Did you ask if they were expecting more in?  I was just shopping at a local nursery last week and while I was there, a truck had come in and they were replenishing.

@Twins Mom    In my area I go to the nursery as soon as it opens for the season...it is a pain to bring things in and then back outside every day until I can plant, but that way I get what I want.

I bought less this year (no veggie plants) I found prices to be a bit high.   I will figure out how to make due with less...and I like perennials but the annuals give instant color.

@Twins Mom.  You may have been looking at last weekend's leftovers.  Try again Friday or Saturday.

@Icegoddess

I asked about some varieties and he said that was it.

@Mom2Dogs

Exactly what I was thinking.  I hate bringing in and out and guessing how much to water but that will be tried next year.

The local Nurseries will be LOADED this weekend, for Mother's Day. I know Lowe's will have a great selection.

I went to nursery on Monday and more coming in at this one.  I got a few things and my daughter is putting in a garden this year.  Going to be a nice one so picked up some things to help out.

I am working on flower beds and lots of work to be done but did some last night and weather just starting to get nice enough to work outside.

I keep telling myself doesn't have to be done all at once.  My husband was the flower guy and I did it because he enjoyed it and was fun as a team.  Made me bummed last night doing without him,  I'm not going to do like he did but work still has to be done.  Almost done with the side and will lay the mulch tonight and then move to the front and that needs help.

Funny what once was enjoyed I no longer feel like doing but it will look nice when all done.  Just a bump in the road.  Keep moving forward and does feel good to be outside doing stuff.  I am downsizing some of it too,

Around here one just can't count on the weather until at least Mother's Day. That's been my date for as long as I can remember, still holding true, especially with the storms that we have had recently. Our handyman is coming in the next week or so to work on the new perennial beds, the dirt comes on Monday. . . I'm excited to see the first one go in, we're planting in the place the pool used to be, the trees are in and now the surrounding beds will be going in. Thrilled the trees made it thru the winter and now the color and flowers for the bees will arrive!!

Wonder if it depends on the climate where you live?  Three of us spent the afternoon on Sunday and we came away loaded!  We always wait until Mother's Day.
