....for my Roberta's hydrangeas to flower.  No blooms this summer and they are supposed to be reblooming, but while they are growing, no sign of any buds forming.  Their sales pitch said you will be seeing flowers this season.  Nope. Very disappointed.  No more Roberta's for me, I've learned my lesson.

I never got blooms after the first time. I quit them too.  I buy local now.

Still waiting for blooms on my Desert Rose plants.  I have one from qvc, one from the big A.

My best indoor plant bloom is on a Christmas cactus that I bought at the grocery store years ago.  It was about as big as a coffee mug.  It's about as big as a basket ball now.  It blooms at least once a year.

@Mary Bailey

Exact same sizes you described for my Christmas cactus that a friend gave me several years ago.

It wasn't blooming much and a couple years ago @Kachina624 suggested giving it more light.

I moved it closer to the window and it now blooms several times a year.

At the end of the season I bought a large hydrangea plant from my grocery store of all places for $5.  They were clearing out their plants.  I was able to split it into two plants and they have produced many flowers this season.  Lesson learned about Roberta's.

@Biftu - So funny that you should mention the grocery store. I have been buying plants and flowers from my local grocery store for years. And I've given the pre-potted plants with a variety of flowers as gifts.

They have always performed wonderfully! And they usually run sales so the flowers/plants are very economical.

I tried buying from Qvc years ago. I forget who the vendor was but the plants (perennials) looked terrible when they arrived and didn't last for the next year. After a few years, I was enticed to buy again but they didn't last the season.

Since then, I just buy locally and have never had a problem. Much cheaper with a far better outcome.

I have two of those.  I have had them for about 4 years and they have bloomed 4 times.  The blooms are beautiful but mine only lasted 3 weeks.  I saw the lovely plant as it was presented on tv and I can say for certain that mine looks nothing like that.   The leaves have fallen off and now there are just two long "arms" on each plant (each about 2-1/2 feet long) shooting off in opposite directions and then there are about 8 leaves at the very end.  They are quite ugly but I can't bring myself to get rid of them yet.

@Biftu ...a few years ago, my mom ( rip) purchased a hydrangea from Robertas....had so much trouble with it, and never bloomed.

Finally we took it out, and re-planted in a pot to nurse it back to health.

It did come around, a bit, but never took off, and finally  died.

She paid alot of money for it too....i was so annoyed...had id known I would have bought her a big beautiful one at lowes, much cheaper too.

 Hope yours does better.

I have to say I've ordered:  Columbine  from both qvc and HSN

They are shade perennial beautiful flowering.  I plant with my hostas.

They have not disappointed.  Expensive, but unique compared to what I can get locally.

My about 10 yr old hydrangea didn't bloom this year and there's one at my post office that didn't bloom.  We had a very warm period in April then it got really cold - I think that hurt the blooming.  Same thing with my dogwood tree.

@Biftu  Sadly, I say the same thing every year and then I cave. Only a couple of things this year but they didn't make it (I really can't place blame with this extreme heat).  So... I'll say it again:  I'm buying LOCAL!!!
