I hate when they show flowers and misrepresent them.   Today, Sandra was showing the marigolds and they had carnations stuck in the pots and she had no idea and said they were the flowers.....UGH

I so agree! It is insulting to experienced gardeners and deceptive for new gardeners. If they can't grow up some real marigolds in their greenhouses to show live, they shouldn't be selling plants. You can buy those bonanza marigold seeds for two bucks and plant them directly in the ground.

Have noticed the longer vendor(s) talk - the better and bigger and more wonderful YOUR flowers will be.

(and you hope)

I pull the seeds off of my marigolds every year and save them for the next season.  Stick them in the ground and they grow like weeds.

They sure looked like carnations to me - mixed in with marigolds.  Are they a new kind of marigold?  Why would Roberta's present them this way?

@ValuSkr  Thanks for the pics. They really do look like carnations! Yikes! Not good!

Their plants (Roberta's) SUCK.  I have wasted enough money on their ****** and won't ever be buying any from them again.  The geranium "Splish Splash" was so inaccurately described it's practically fraudulent.  And the "lime" tree.   They act like you're going to have limes tomorrow.  Such fraud.  Should be against the law.  OK I've vented enough.

Suffice it to say I think their plants are all a waste of good money.  Just go to a local nursery and get plants you know will live!

Carolyn would have picked up on this right away.  Q should have her do all the gardening presentations - or at least the ones with live plants.  She's the only host, besides possibly Dan, that has real gardening cred.

Marigolds are pretty easy to grow from seeds. Why would they stick in some carnations? Doesn't make sense.

When I saw the presentation yesterday I was really confused.  I have never seen a marigold like that before!  I also thought it looked like a carnation, but I couldn't bring myself to believe that they would purposely put in the wrong kind of flower and mislead people like that.  I guess I was wrong!

If you look at the still shots during the presentation, you can see what they truly will look like.  They look nothing like what Sandra was showing.  They look like typical marigolds with some that have different striations on them. I didn't see anything in the photos that had that beauiful peach/coral coloring to them.  Too bad because they would be pretty amazing if they looked like that.

I'm sure there will be some disappointed customers come spring/summer.
