...is peaking here in Nebraska. Yesterday and today have been AWESOME! I usually sit outside on our patio and watch the skies and the gardens. On one of our bushes alone there were 8 and I'm guessing at one time in our gardens there was over 40!!!! I was counting 1-2 flying up over our fence line heading south every 5 minutes.

Usually the peak here yearly is between September 12th-20th...depending on the weather/winds (they love the gentle light/northerly or variable wind/breeze to give them a boost). The past 2 days has been perfect for them here and they are right on time!

Keep an eye to the skies folks...especially for those south of us...they are on their way! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I've seen a Monarch in the past two days at the NY ironweed in my garden and in the roadside ditches (there's lots of asclepias there, too, so they were plentiful in the summer) but what I am seeing many of is black swallowtail. It is very breezy here, today. Seems to be moving variably. This is east coast.

Preserve the habitat!
