We have been busy here in Nova Scotia with Spring cleanup. We are also moving shrubs and taking some out altogether. We are in this property 19 years now so the gardens are mature. So far we have taken out a nesting Spruce and a dapple willow and moved a 15 year old weeping mulberry and three hydrangeas.
Our croscus are up but no daffodils yet. Very wet Spring. We had 246 mm of rain in March, the norm around 130. My brother in West Coast interior British Columbia doesn't get that much all year.
We have had some winter damage because of the weight of snow, mostly to Rhodos. I think the Azaleas do much better in that regard.
We are going to have a good year for blooms. No polar blast this year.
How are your gardens shaping up?

I want that stone BUNNY!!!!
My arborist is coming tomorrow to trim my trees...and then the crew will do a total yard cleanup.
Love your photos... di

@Desertdi , that bunny, along with two others, makes a set of three gifted to us by my BIL who is quite a gardener. They are so cute.
It is so nice to be out working in the garden...between the late Spring snowfalls. It is the perfect time to move things...while they are still dormant.
I could use that arborist!

@Lilysmom1 I buy any "bunny" I can find in garden shops! The problem is......I really don't want to put them out in the elements.....sooooo, I also have a few of them scattered around the house.
The arborist is my yard "LUXURY"...but he does an excellent job...keeps the wind from howling thru the trees (which are taller than a 2-story house).
Well, I can't complain, since shade is also a luxury on the desert!
Keep those photos coming, and Happy Spring. di

@Desertdi These stone bunnies are very heavy. I bring them in over winter because they would be buried in the snow...tripping hazards!
I have a new metal garden piece but, for some reason, the photo is too large. Will post as we move into the season.
I was lakeside yesterday setting things up. Nice to have the chairs and swings out!

@Lilysmom1 It's been a relatively mild winter here, temps not too bad, not much snow but certainly cold enough to get bulbs going for springtime.
From December forward we had spurts of warm temps warm enough that we've been sitting on the front porch a few times in every month - crazy I say! Ever since the first day of Spring, the weather decided to be cold and rainy though the daffs have done good, crocuses too. Serviceberry is in full bloom, dogwoods just now beginning to show the slightest leaf pop. The maple next door is leafing out, our red Japanese maple has been leafing out for a couple of weeks now. With all the rain, lawns are greening up and growing quickly.
Ahh Spring, LOVE IT!

My gardening these days is all indoor, but it's doing well. (Photo below.) My African Violets grown from seed are mostly flowering. A Gloxinia I grew from seed is doing very well. I've got some tuberous begonias potted up and two of the three are actively growing. They'll do well as houseplants. On the bottom shelf in the photo below, you'll find my newest addition, my cat, Holly who I adopted on February 22nd after a fellow resident here died and left her behind. For whatever reason Holly loves to lie under the plant lights and sleep in one of the trays. (The white feet belong to her.) The cat grass needs replanting and the gloxinia is doing better than expected, so I'll plant some more gloxinia seeds pretty soon.
