My hydrangea didn't bloom all summer but it now has buds that are almost ready to open. We're probably going to have a frost soon here in NY. I hope this doesn't affect next year's flowers.

Same zone as you, and I keep hearing it was the tough winter that did it. My hydrangeas definitely suffered some damage.

Hopefully those who had severe winters last year removed the dead stems straight to the ground level this spring. All we can do is hope for the best!
