@VegasBusinessWoman , I hope you will post some photos of your garden. My brother lives in the interior of British Columbia and the conditions there are desert like...vert hot, very dry.  My SIL laments gardening so any ideas are appreciated.  LM

@Lilysmom  I'm really surprised that any place in BC is hot and dry, but I don't know the area.  Right at the moment the garden is pretty bare--no leaves on the trees and nothing blooming other than the winter annuals.  If anyone would be interested, I'd be happy to post pictures when things really get going.

Right now I'm trimming back vines and shrubs and shredding them as well as gathering leaves and faded perennial topgrowth for the compost.  Then it will be time to prune the fruit trees, the grape vine and the roses, topdress everything with compost and mulch and wait for the magic to begin!

Re: Hopefully Final Fall Cleanup!

@VegasBusinessWoman , it is Kamloops.  Here is a description...

The climate
of Kamloops is semi-arid (Köppen climate classification BSk) due to its rain shadow location. Because of milder winters and aridity, the area west of Kamloopsin the lower Thompson River valley falls within Köppen climate classification BWk climate.

The first time I made a visit, I was surprised.  Hot, windy, dry, experiencing very dangerous forest fires, threats of evacuation, air quality problems, etc.  A very dry heat.  Tumbleweed around.  Great place for drought tolerant perennials like Russian sage.

Pls do post photos.  We gardeners like to share and compare. LM
