I'm in the Atlanta are, no idea what part of GA you are in... If you're near a Pike's Nursery they are usually helpful identifying plants. Or I would try a local nursery not a big box store. Looks like something in the dogwood family.

Do all the flowers have 4 petals or do they have 5? If they have 5, it might be a mountain stewartia or 'summer dogwood'.

Definitely take it to your local cooperative extension too for ID. Click on your county and contact them.

Google Mountain Stewartia and tons of images appear. There appear to be numerous varieties and yours could definitely be one.

Could it be a camellia? I'm wondering if camellias can have 4 petals? or only 5 and up?

I think it's Mock Orange.

I'm in agreement with seahorse. I think it is too.

Is it very fragrant? It looks very much like something my MIL had that she called a Mock Orange tree which had a very fragrant almost citrusy smell - just flowers no fruit. Hers grew to be very large - around 9 - 10 feet wide and around 10 - 12 ft tall as I recall (when not pruned).

It's those shiny leaves that makes me, too, think it's a camellia.
