Many times the hybridizers try to cultivate roses for disease resistance only and rarely for fragrance. There are a few that are fragrant and disease resistant.

Look for them by name and by mailorder-- in December for mailorder ordering for spring 2014. Many nurseries are having deep discounts at this time of year on roses so they don't have to carry them through the heat of summer.
